Frequently Asked Questions About Our Design Files
I can find free SVG files online
You absolutely can find free SVG files online, and for simple designs, that might be your best option. Our paid designs aren't for everyone. They're for crafters who've wasted time with free files that have jagged edges, missing parts, or poor cutting paths. Our customers typically come to us after experiencing the frustration of a project ruined by a poorly made file.
If basic designs work for your needs, there's no need to purchase ours. But if you're working on something special or selling finished products, you might appreciate the difference in quality and the peace of mind of having proper commercial licensing.
I'm not sure if these will work with my machine/software
Our design files include SVG, PNG, and EPS files to ensure compatibility with virtually any setup:
- SVG files work with all major cutting machines including Cricut, Silhouette, Brother ScanNCut, and any software that accepts SVG format (Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio Designer Edition or higher, Sure Cuts A Lot, etc.)
- PNG files are perfect for printing projects, digital designs, or for Silhouette Basic Edition users who can't import SVGs
- EPS files provide additional flexibility for graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Affinity Designer
Not sure which format you need? Grab our Free Test File that includes all three formats to check compatibility with your setup before purchasing.
I don't know if I have the technical skills to use these
If you can import files into your cutting software, you can use our designs. They require no special skills beyond the basics you already use with your machine.
Our SVG files come ready to cut and use - no ungrouping complicated layers or resizing tiny elements. We've already done the hard work for you.
How can I use these files after purchase?
You're purchasing a license to use these designs, not ownership of the artwork itself. Here's what that means:
You CAN:
- Use the files for your personal craft projects
- Use the designs on finished products you sell (like t-shirts, mugs, or decals)
- Create as many physical items as you want for your business
You CANNOT:
- Resell or redistribute the digital files themselves
- Include these files in design bundles or collections
- Upload the designs to print-on-demand services (like Printify, Printful, etc.)
- Share the files with others, even if not charging for them
Think of it like buying sheet music - you can perform the song, but you can't publish the sheet music as your own or sell copies of it to others.
If you need extended licensing for special uses, please contact us directly to discuss options.
What if the design doesn't cut properly?
Then it's on us, not you. Every design is tested on multiple machines before release.
If you experience any issues, email us HERE with a photo of the problem and we'll either help troubleshoot or provide a full refund. No need to return anything - it's a digital file after all. We'd rather you be satisfied than keep your money.
Is it really worth paying for a digital file?
Honestly, it depends on what you value. If you enjoy creating designs from scratch or have plenty of time to clean up free files, probably not.
Our customers typically value their time more than the few dollars our files cost. They've calculated that spending 30+ minutes creating or fixing a design costs more in their time than our ready-to-cut file. For commercial users especially, the proper licensing alone often justifies the cost.
